Wet-in-place functionality on vacuum conveyors
Piab, Hingham, Mass., added new wet-in-place (WIP) functionality to its piFLOWp vacuum conveyors.
The WIP spray nozzles are available for inclusion/retrofitting in new and existing piFLOWp conveying systems.
How it works is, the WIP nozzles spray the water to wet any dust from food materials left in conveyors, stopping it from escaping into the air where it can be inhaled by processing staff during maintenance or cleaning procedures. By wetting potentially harmful leftover material before the equipment is opened for cleaning, the spray nozzles ensure that any such dust stays wet-in-place until it can be safely removed.
Up to three spray nozzles can be fitted to each conveyor.
