Food Engineering, the sister publication of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods magazine, presents its 2019 Food Automation and Manufacturing (FA&M) Conference and Expo, scheduled to take place April 14-17 at the Doral Resort in Miami, Fla.

FA&M brings food and beverage processors and suppliers together to gain valuable information on the latest trends and technologies in manufacturing, automation, sustainability and food safety. FA&M provides a unique forum of world-class speakers presenting essential solutions and educational sessions on a variety of topics ranging from Industry 4.0, transparency and risk management to clean label, high-pressure processing and cannabis edibles.

The convention will kick off opening remarks from Casey Laughman, Food Engineering’s editor-in-chief, discussing the state of food manufacturing.

This will be followed by engineering keynote speaker Anthony Doss, vice president of engineering for Tyson Foods, who will explore the role of engineering in the industry’s next generation of food plants.

The Solutions Theater sessions will cover topics such as how to prevent bacteria buildup on conveyors, how to improve your company’s energy risk management program and more.

Matt Kovar, engineering and facilities manager for Kellogg Co., will present the automation keynote, outlining how integrating people into the automation process can help ensure processors successfully implement automation strategies.

Celebrate Food Engineering’s Plant of the Year, Valley Milk, LLC, with a luncheon and presentation.

New to this year’s program is the Refrigerated Foods Processor of the Year reception. Here, Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods, will present Bonduelle Fresh Americas (formerly Ready Pac Foods) with the 2019 Refrigerated Foods Processor of the Year award.
