The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA), Canada, released “A landscape review of plastics in the Canadian fresh produce sector,” a technical report developed by Value Chain Management International (VCMI), Canada, to address plastic packaging in the produce industry.
Smurfit Kappa, Sunrise, Fla., partnered with the United States National Mango Board, Orlando, Fla.; California Polytechnic State University’s Packaging Program, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; C & C Produce, North Kansas City, Mo.; Amazon Produce Network, Vineland, N.J.; an other members of the mango supply chain to develop a new mango packaging solution for the United States and Mexico.
The new packaging will feature a standout logo on upper left-hand corner, an illustration on the right-hand corner and a band mid-package that highlights ingredients.
