Hormel Foods is predicting eight food trends for 2021. "It's no surprise that comfort food, sourdough bread and whipped coffee had big moments this past year, as people hunkered down and spent more time at home than ever before," says Heather Vossler, director of innovation and insights at Hormel Foods. "What's interesting is that as we all eagerly look ahead to the fresh start of a new year, we're seeing people still wanting that comfort and nostalgia, but also on a more elevated and focused level, as individuals continue seeking inspired, yet familiar, food choices."

Honor Foods, a Burris Logistics company, is in the final stage of moving its current Philadelphia operation from its North 5th Street location to a new warehouse at 5505 Tacony Street. The final day of business in its current location will be Thursday, January 7, preparing for a Monday, January 11 opening of the new warehouse. Honor Foods worked closely with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation to identify a suitable site within the city, eventually choosing a 20-acre parcel sitting within the former Frankford Military Arsenal site that closed in 1977.

The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) today commended the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for releasing the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs) that outline science-based recommendations designed to foster healthy dietary patterns for Americans of all ages, which can be achieved with frozen foods.

Stavis Seafoods, a multinational fishing company and seafood manufacturer, today announced the promotion of David Lancaster to President of Stavis Seafoods and will lead the company’s executive leadership team. Lancaster, who previously served as Vice President of Sales at Stavis Seafoods, has more than 30 years of experience in sales, management and the seafood industry. Palermo’s Pizza, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is adding two gluten-free options under the Primo Thin Pizza line. The new gluten-free crust offerings, a first time offering for Palermo’s, are on a thin crust that bakes crispy on the bottom but maintains a soft bite. They are available in two new flavors: Cheese and Roasted Vegetable. The Cheese Pizza has a classic marinara sauce, mozzarella, white cheddar, Parmesan, and Romano cheeses. The Roasted Vegetable Pizza has marinara sauce, red, green and yellow peppers, red onions, and mozzarella, Parmesan, and Romano cheeses.

The new Quest Meat Lover’s Loaded Pizza comes topped with mozzarella cheese, spicy Italian sausage, Canadian style bacon, uncured pepperoni and smoked bacon. The Quest Meat Lover’s Loaded Pizza has 22g of protein and 5g net carbs* per serving, and features a custom-made flourless crust, rich in protein. Each pizza is 270 calories per serving, 810 for an entire pizza.
