Matterhorn Group says it wants to help consumers fight the battle of the bulge and keep their New Years weight loss resolutions. That's why Matterhorn, Boise, Idaho, developed new Crystal Light frozen pops and Italian ice cups.

"Crystal Light frozen pops were the first low-calorie, sugar-free frozen treat catering to the sophisticated pallet of the adult consumer - our Italian ice cups the second," said Frank Everett, Matterhorn's vice president of marketing. "Consumers expect bold great taste from Crystal Light and they get it. Our pops are 15 calories each and the Italian ice cups 35, and far more creamy and delicious like other Italian ice cups on the market, but 50% less calories and no sugar."

Officials say Crystal Light frozen treats are available in 10-count frozen pop combo packs and four-count cup packs. Featured flavors are wild strawberry, raspberry ice, lemonade, raspberry lemonade, cherry pomegranate, pink lemonade, classic orange, and fruit punch.

Matterhorn says it is the largest independent producer of ice cream novelties in the western United States. MGI produces a wide variety of packaged ice cream and novelties including frozen juice, yogurt and sherbet for retail grocery and convenience and mobile vending channels as well as the foodservice sector including hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and hospitals. Crystal Light is a registered trademark of Kraft Foods and licensed by Matterhorn Ice Cream.
