AMI dishes meat facts; NRA touts strong show
National Restaurant Association (NRA) officials said attendee and exhibitor numbers both showed positive growth at NRA's 91st annual Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show and the International Wine, Spirits and Beer Event (IWSB). NRA Show 2010 just concluded at Chicago’s McCormick Place May 22-25, and IWSB was held in conjunction with the Show on May 23-24.
Officials said NRA attracted more than 58,000 registrants – a six percent increase over 2009 -- from 120 countries, up from 107 countries in 2009. Approximately 1,700 exhibitors, covering more than 480,000-square-feet, showcased new products and services.
The American Meat Institute (AMI) released an updated version of its U.S. Meat Industry at a Glance document and pocket guide to reflect the most recent data available for 2010.
Officials say the document provides up-to-date information, facts and figures about the U.S. meat and poultry in four areas: Production (Feeding 307 Million Americans), Economic Impact (Feeding our Economy), Nutrition (Feeding Us Essential Nutrients), and Trade (Feeding the World).
The U.S. Meat Industry at a Glance, 2010 is available electronically on AMI’s website (www.meatami.org) and can be folded into a pocket-sized guide for ease of use and convenience.
