Blue Bell plans Indianapolis warehouse
The Indianapolis Star reported reported Blue Bell plans to build a 12,000-square-foot distribution center in Indianapolis by next spring. Officials said the site will be six times larger than what originally planned as a transfer station.
Local Sales Manager Dave Kellum told the newspaper that Blue Bell began distributing product in central Indiana this April and that "the response to the product...has been overwhelming."
Blue Bell sells its ice cream through Meijer stores and independent groceries, the newspaper reported. Blue Bell said its new distribution center will employ 13 to 17 full- and part-time workers.
