Vegan To-Go, Huntersville, N.C., introduced Hearty Meatless Cowboy Chili offering a vegan meat alternative for the retail and foodservice industry.
“While some consumers simply replace red meat with chicken, pork or fish, others substitute at least some of the red meat with textured plant-based protein on Meatless Mondays or to make better dietary choices. This switch to a semi-plant-based diet has been a major driver of the vegan foods market. We felt there was a niche for a new type of convenient vegan entrée for people who are looking for something special and varied,” says Patrick Steptoe, president.
The Hearty Meatless Cowboy Chili is available in the frozen section of 200 regional Harris Teeter stores in 12-ounce containers.
