Miller Poultry announced plans to expand its Orland, Ind., processing facility and start its own breeder operation.

The breeder project will add approximately 52 new contract growers to the area, and is tentatively scheduled for completion in early 2018. The plant moved to a second shift, and is processing 650,000 birds a week.

“Miller Poultry is excited for the opportunity to expand our business and bring jobs to the local area,” says Galen Miller, owner and CEO. “This will also make our business more sustainable and help us continue to produce good quality products to the end producer.”

Miller Poultry also announced plans to feed 100% non-GMO feeds through its conventional antibiotic-free program that parallels organic-fed birds.
