IoT TRACKING FOR WOODEN PALLETS

IoT tracking

Pallet Alliance, a leading innovator in comprehensive pallet management programs for multi-site manufacturing companies, has added the efficient, flexible, and economical LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN connectivity protocol to its IoT-enabled IntelliPallet platform, the industry’s first supply chain managed service to be integrated into wooden pallets. The new capability is the result of Pallet Alliance’s collaboration with Semtech, a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, and Viaanix, a full-service IoT integration firm. Pallet Alliance was the first third-party pallet management and logistics provider to offer IoT-enabled location and environmental sensors to be integrated into wooden pallets, which comprise more than 90% of the worldwide palletized shipping market today. The company’s IntelliPallet platform was introduced with both AT&T mobile (cellular) and CalAmp Bluetooth connectivity options.

MOBILE COLLABORATIVE ROBOT PALLETIZER

robot palletizer

Cross Company’s Cross Palletron utilizes the Universal Robotics UR10e cobot to create a fully collaborative and mobile palletizer and de-palletizer. Cross’ easy-to-use-software eliminates the need for complex robotic programming and makes redeploying the palletizer for a different production line or package size much quicker. The Cross Palletron aims to keep workers from doing repetitive bending and lifting tasks that can lead to workplace injuries. Staff can then be allocated to higher-value decision-based work that is less mundane and can’t be easily automated. The Cross Palletron also features the ability to simulate your project prior to purchase. This allows you to assess if the Palletron is the right solution for you and visualize exactly how the palletizing will be carried out.

MODULAR SOLUTIONS FOR AUTOMATED PALLET CONVEYANCE

modular pallet conveyor platform

The Modular Pallet Conveyor Platform (MPP) system by Interroll is an exceptionally versatile pallet conveyor system, distinguished by its highly flexible modular design. In conjunction with Interroll’s tried-and-tested Pallet & Carton Flow storage system, the new pallet conveying platform is an ideal foundation on which to build comprehensive pallet storage and conveying solutions of any type and for any application. Unlike the flow storage system, in which pallets are buffered in intermediate storage areas on inclined belts due to the force of gravity, the MPP is a driven conveying system for pallets. Depending on the application scenario, the drive is powered by gear or drum motors, which even enables the creation of zero-pressure-accumulation conveyors. Pallets weighing up to 1,200 kg can be transported at a top speed of 0.5 meters per second. The elements in the system are guaranteed to function perfectly within a temperature range of -28° C to +40° C., meaning that the MPP can also be used in low-temperature applications.
