Danone is also investing in a new regional distribution center in the Jacksonville area. 

The 155,000-square-foot production facility along Interstate 65 will be adjacent to a previously announced $175 million King’s Hawaiian bakery. 

The new facility is 29,000 square feet, with 24,000 square feet designated for production use.

The new plant will process up to 8 million pounds of milk per day from more than 100 regional farms. 

As TCCA’s first owned-and-operated manufacturing site outside of Oregon, the production facility opening marks a key milestone in the 116-year-old farmer-owned co-op’s national expansion.

The new facility plans to produce 130 million pounds of sausage, processing 500,000 sows each year.

The expansion will add 111,000 square feet, encompassing new smoke houses, slicing rooms, bacon bit production and warehousing.

The facility currently employs 80 people, with plans to expand to over 100, and it is estimated to bring a significant financial benefit to the local economy.

In the past 10 years, Milo's has doubled in size 3.5 times and expanded its manufacturing footprint to four facilities. 

The new plant will house up to 28 production lines designed to process approximately 12 million pounds of milk per day.
