Frost Popsicles, a premium line of four alcoholic “poptails” (6-7% ABV) and three non-alcoholic “paletas” have made their way to the U.S., with the help of independent distributor BevStrat LLC, just in time for summer. Originally hailing from South Africa, these guilt-free frozen indulgences are made with all-natural ingredients, using recyclable packaging and created with production methods that generate minimal waste.
Providing essential support to the growing needs of refrigerated transporters serving the food distribution and agricultural industries in California’s Inland Empire region, Carrier Transicold of Southern California (CTSC) has opened a new 42,000-square-foot service facility. The modern 12-bay facility is the largest of CTSC’s three locations in Southern California. The purpose of the spiral freezer is to quickly decrease product temperature prior to transporting or placing in storage. Product travels through the spiral freezer on a belt, with the time spent in the freezing process controlled by the belt speed. The enclosed area of the spiral freezer, or box, is maintained at a target temperature, with evaporator fans operating at a defined speed to maintain air flow across product while the evaporator coils remove heat from the space.
