McCain Foods Ltd., Lisle, Ill., announced plans to expand its production capacity for frozen French Fries in North America. This investment is expected to add over 400 million pounds of capacity to its current production.

McCain is currently evaluating options in both the United States and Canada with final site selection to be based on a number of investment considerations. McCain expects to make an announcement in the coming months to identify the location selected for expansion.

This expanded capacity notice follows investments in specialty potato capacity in Plover, Wis., and a $65 million investment in the Florenceville, New Brunswick (Canada), plant, increasing capacity by over 100 million pounds of specialty potato products.
