Germany-based Eye Vision Technology (EVT), developed EyeVision 3D, which features a combination of different 3D sensors, such as automation technology or smart sensors, making it suitable for the inspection of fruits and vegetables.

The software can generate a point cloud out of the 3D scan and detect flaws in the pattern, texture or on the surface, almost like a pattern match tool. The software also entails ColorControl commands that check the color of vegetables.

For this task, users choose between a large number of commands such as 3D object detection, 3D filters, 3D probes, etc. to retrieve a graphical user interface and drag-and-drop function for programming of inspection programs.

EyeVision 3D can be applied to sorting good fruits and vegetables from bad ones on a conveyor belt.
