Heinz VP Retires, Tyson Names CEO for China Operations

ASSOCIATIONS/ORGANIZATIONS: Dairy Council of California, Sacramento, Calif. Tammy Anderson-Wise was named chief executive officer, effective July 16. Anderson-Wise was formerly director of program services, managing its school programs. She has been with the organization for 15 years. She replaces Peggy Biltz, who is retiring after spending 27 years with the organization, 22 of them as chief executive officer.
PROCESSORS: H.J. Heinz Co., Pittsburgh Mike Milone, an executive vice president who led the dynamic growth of the company’s Rest of World segment, will retire in June after 32 years of service with Heinz. Milone was also responsible for global enterprise risk management, environmental health, safety and sustainability, quality and infant/nutrition. Following Milone’s retirement, David Woodward was promoted to president of Heinz Rest of World business. Since joining the company in 2006, Woodward has driven the company’s strong performance in the UK and Ireland as president. Bob Ostryniec, chief supply chain officer, will assume the added responsibilities for global enterprise risk management, environmental health, safety and sustainability and quality.
Tyson Foods, Inc., Springdale, Ark. Arex Lee was named chief executive officer of the company’s China operations. Prior to joining Tyson, Lee gained more than 25 years experience with one of China’s leading poultry companies.
Haggen, Bellingham, Wash. John Turley joins as senior vice president of operations, bringing more than 40 years of experience in grocery retail, including marketing, merchandising and operations. He's held various positions at Vons Grocery and Kroger Co., as well as Quality Food Centers, where he was responsible for the operations, merchandising and marketing strategy for 95 stores in the Pacific Northwest. Clement Stevens was promoted to senior vice president of sales and merchandising. Previously, Stevens ran his own retail consulting company in Boise, Idaho, focusing on product development among the Fresh Foods vendor community. Prior to that, he spent 30 years with Albertson's, where he held various positions ranging from store operations to category manager to group vice president of foods where he successfully executed a "Focus on Fresh" strategy across 1,600 stores nationwide.
