FPSA elects new members, among other industry personnel changes
ASSOCIATIONS/ORGANIZATIONS: Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA), McLean, Va.
New members to the board include Tom Kittle, president of Handtmann Inc and Handtmann Canada Ltd., who will serve as chairman; Gil Williams, president U.S. and Canada of Poly-clip System, who will serve as immediate past chairman; John Atanasio, president and CEO of Alfa Laval, Inc., who will serve as treasurer; Dan Plante, director of sales and marketing for JBT FoodTech, who will serve as chairman of the Membership Committee; and Bill McPhail, president of MAX Engineering & Consulting, who will serve as chairman of the Show Committee. Jeff Dahl, North American business manager for JBT FoodTech, assumed the role of chairman of the FPSA Foundation. Additionally, Jarrod McCarroll, chief executive officer of Weber Inc., was elected chairman of MISA; Brian Perkins, vice president, global product management for Provisur, was elected vice chairman of MISA; Bert Wesley, senior principal at Woodard & Curran, was elected chairman of the Beverage Council; Chad Hawkins, sales engineer for SPX FLOW, was elected vice chairman of the Beverage Council; Edel Blanks, president and general manager for Intralox, was elected chairman of the Prepared Foods Council; Dan Voit, president of Blentech, was elected vice chairman of the Prepared Foods Council; Ken Hagedorn, vice president of sales and marketing for Naegele Inc., was elected chairman of the Bakery Council; and Ed Fay, president of CMC America, was elected vice chairman of the Bakery Council. The Bakery Council also elected Tony Graves, project manager at the Dennis Group; the Beverage Council elected Hank Brink, chief executive officer at Design Group; and MISA elected Bob Grote, chief executive officer of Grote Co., to serve as members at large.
Port of Long Beach, Long Beach, Calif.
The Board of Harbor Commissioners appointed Maurina Lee as new director of finance. She has been controller since March 2015, and was previously finance manager for Downey, Calif., from 2006-2015. Robert Seidel was named the new director of surveys. Seidel began working in surveys for the port in 1992 for an 18-month internship. He returned to the port in 1997, and worked on many major projects, including the development of Pier T in 2000 and the 1992 expansion of Pier J. Seidel has been the port’s chief surveyor since 2006. And, Allison Yoh was promoted to director of transportation planning. Yoh has been the transportation policy manager since February 2015. Prior to joining the port in 2013, she was associate director of two research centers at UCLA focusing on transportation policy. The appointments are effective March 19.
