Nearly 70% of respondents agree that throwing away food after the package date has passed reduces the odds of foodborne illness, according to a study produced by SQL Server Reporting Services, a server-based report generating software system from Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash.
Government funding will be used to purchase new processing and packaging equipment for the $5.9 million bacon production line.

The Canada and Manitoba governments are investing $500,000 in an expansion project that will increase bacon production at Maple Leaf Food’s Winnipeg, Canada, facility by 8 million kilograms every year.
