Nasoya, a leading brand of tofu, announced an expansion into the foodservice sector with new university and fast-casual restaurant accounts. The announcement comes on the heels of the successful launch of Nasoya’s Plantspired line – a variety of convenient plant-based protein and meal solutions.

Building upon the success of its Plantspired line in grocery, the company announced two collaborations to make plant-based eating more accessible for consumers. The company will partner with WaBa Grill, a healthy rice bowl chains, and the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst, the largest collegiate dining program in the country.

WaBa Grill has added a new plant-based protein option via Nasoya Plantspired steak. Served with vegetables and grains, the Plantspired steak boasts 15 grams of plant-based protein per serving without sacrificing taste. The innovative offering has helped drive a nearly 5% sales increase in the first six weeks following the launch, and sales of Plantspired menu items are expected to reach the $3 million-mark next year.

UMass Amherst has begun to feature products from Nasoya in plant-forward and Asian-inspired campus dishes. With easy preparation methods perfect for college students, Plantspired products are also being sold at on-campus retail stores.
