Smith Dairy Products Co., Orrville, Ohio, created Artisa Fine Curd Cottage Cheese, an artisan-style cottage cheese with natural fruit on the bottom.

Artisa features a slow-cooked fine curd that is said to be about 50% smaller than standard small curd cheese, resulting in a unique smooth and creamy texture.

“Artisa will appeal to consumers who are looking for a flavorful, satisfying, healthy snack,” sats Penny Baker, marketing director. “The brand nameArtisa is derived from “artisan” because of its hand-crafted and all-natural origins.”

Artisa is hand-crafted using traditional artisan processes and locally sourced all-natural ingredients.  Each batch begins with fresh milk from local dairy farms. Its trademark creamy texture comes from 8 hours of slow cooking and careful churning. The cheese is hand-cut into fine curds and carefully layered over all-natural fruits.

Artisa offers 15-18 grams of protein and just 8-14 grams of sugar per single serving.

It comes in Wild Berry, Raspberry Pomegranate, Pineapple, Strawberry, Apple Cinnamon and Peach, and is available at grocery stores throughout northeast and central Ohio for a suggested retail price of $1.49 per 5.3-ounce cup.
