milkadamia, Burr Ridge, Ill., launched milkadamia Buttery Spread, what is said to be a first-of-its-kind, 100% plant-based macadamia nut oil-based spreadable butter that is completely palm oil-free.

“milkadamia grew out of a family farm, nestled near the rainforests of the eastern coast of Australia, where macadamias originate. As such, when creating our buttery spread, it seemed the antithesis to develop one utilizing palm oil given the level of rainforest deforestation that crop has caused,” says Christina Downey, chief marketing officer. “The response has been overwhelming by both the trade and milkadamia enthusiasts. Of course, like all milkadamia products, the taste is exquisite. milkadamia buttery spread is rich, creamy and a tad bit decadent.”

The butter is made with raw, regeneratively farmed macadamia nut oil, is salted and comes in an 8-ounce compostable tub.

The salted butter is sold in the chilled dairy section of 500 Whole Foods nationwide.
