Seald Sweet International, Vero Beach, Fla., was originally founded in 1909 as a grower-owned cooperative. Today, it is said to be Florida’s oldest and largest fresh citrus marketing company, a leading supplier in the year-round citrus category and a large supplier of deciduous fruit such as grapes, apples and pears through its global network of companies and partners.

Since joining the UNIVEG Group, Belgium, in 1998, Seald Sweet has grown into a global source for year-round fresh fruit. In June 2015, Seald Sweet and UNIVEG merged with Greenyard Foods, Belgium, dubbing it the largest fruit and vegetable supplier worldwide, with divisions in fresh, frozen, canned and growing media sectors.

Recently, Greenyard announced an expansion of its northeast U.S. operations and the development of a new state-of-the-art fresh produce distribution facility in Swedesboro, N.J. Seald Sweet’s northeast sales operations will relocate to the new facility upon its opening in February 2017. Expanding use of the ReposiTrak system to collect and manage foreign supplier documentation and verify compliance enables Seald Sweet to evolve with the FSMA rules and augments their robust food safety protocols already in place.

“Food safety is of critical importance to our company,” says Mayda Sotomayor, Seald Sweet’s chief executive officer. “As our company continues to grow, it is imperative that our infrastructure and management systems ensure we are in compliance with all FSMA regulations as it pertains directly to food safety and traceability.”

“We needed an automated system that would enable us to better manage required documentation from our domestic and international suppliers, now that FSMA’s Foreign Supplier Verification Program has been finalized,” adds Carlos Sotomayor, manager of food safety for Seald Sweet. “After using ReposiTrak on the supplier side, we experienced that the system was accurate, efficient and the best choice.”

“Our best-in-class user experience is one of the main reasons that well-known global suppliers, such as Seald Sweet International, are choosing ReposiTrak to manage their own upstream supply chains,” says Randall Fields, chairman and CEO of Park City Group, Salt Lake City, Utah. “Their commitment to food safety and supply chain transparency make us proud to have them utilize our system.”

ReposiTrak helps manage regulatory, financial and brand risk associated with issues of safety in the global food, pharmaceutical and dietary supply chains. The compliance management feature receives, stores and shares documentation, and manages compliance through dashboards and alerts for missing or expired documents. And, the track-and-trace function quickly identifies product ingredients and their supply chain path in the unfortunate event of a product recall.
