Herbold Meckesheim USA moved its headquarters from Smithfield, R.I., to a 15,000-square-foot facility it recently built in a new rail-accessible office park in North Smithfield, R.I. The new building’s street address is 130 Industrial Drive, North Smithfield, with a new mailing address of P.O. Box 239, Slatersville, RI 02876.

Herbold’s product line has dramatically swelled to include debalers, separation tanks, friction washers, hydrocyclones, dryers, compactors and what is said to be the world’s first wraparound label remover for the recycling of post-consumer polyester (PET) bottles.

“Herbold was quick to recognize the growing popularity of recycling as part of the movement toward environmental responsibility - the willingness of consumers to recycle and the growing demand for recycled content in manufactured products,” says David Lefrancois, president. “We are fortunate that we have the capability to design and build machines for independent recycling businesses as well as for traditional plastics processors.”

“The new headquarters is better as well as bigger,” Lefrancois adds. “After 16 years in the old place, we had quite a wish list of features we wanted in the new facility, and we made sure to build in every one of them. Our work flow, quality control and inventory management will all benefit.”
