New leader at Danfoss; new name at Packaging Solutions
Dairy and produce packaging materials supplier Packaging Solutions Holdings Inc., Lake Forest, Ill., announced several moves. Founders Harold Bevis and Wellspring Capital Management said they renamed the company Prolamina Corp. In conjunction, Prolamina appointed several new executive team members including Mark Butler, hired as dairy market manager; and Chad Perre as vice president of technology and innovation. Butler most recently served at Printpack LLC and Perre formerly was director of packaging sourcing at cheese processor Schreiber Foods. Prolamina said it expects by August 2011 to open a third plant in Neenah, Wis., to supply films -- in part -- for the cheese, produce and snack food industries.
Danfoss, a Baltimore-based manufacturer of high-efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls for air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration and motion systems, announced John Galyen has assumed the position of president of Danfoss North America. Officials said the announcement comes as Danfoss "reshapes the role of its North American president to ensure cross-divisional alignment that will help the company better serve its customers and optimize operations, while putting even greater strategic focus on growth in North America.
“North America is our largest market with significant growth potential,” said Galyen. “Our largest HVAC OEM customers are based here, so it is important that we chart a course that will help us meet the challenges of this unique market and take full advantage of the opportunities it presents.”
Galyen will chair a new North American Regional Management Team that comprises representatives from each division of Danfoss North America. In his new role, he will report to a Board consisting of the company’s COO and division presidents. The board will be chaired by Leif Flojgaard, president, Danfoss Commercial Compressors.
